So normally when I make one of these I post various pics from the comic but since I'm reading these on the high seas anyway I figured I'd be an extra grumpy bastard and actually link the entire thing for people here to suffer through.

Basics: It's a Picard prequel comic when he's at the academy set in 2325 decades away from any show material.
It's written by Sam Maggs. Yes, that Sam Maggs.
I was expecting the comic to be shit. I was no disappointed, the cover alone shows the modern woke trend of "diverse" characters, and why the fuck one of them is wearing glasses is anyone's guess since that's all but eliminated with the exception of a rare allergy to the modern cure which was the reason Kirk needed reading glasses.
I was expecting blatant pandering and shitty references to occur. Again I was not disappointed. Picard not only doesn't like tea [yet], but when offered it he is warned "Careful, it's hot." Oh Sam you retarded wetwipe, that line wasn't anywhere near as witty as you thought it was nor however much anyone then praised you for it.
The dumb cameos don't help things either.
For anyone wanting to further lose brain cells you can check what other works have been done by Sam Maggs. The tl;dr is Captain Marvel, Critical Role, and My Little Pony.
I. Shit. You. Not.
Picard season 3 is basically a great TNG movie. I watched it without the bullshit seasons before it. It was really good.
The problem I have is that even if the writing is good, I can't see any of those actors as anything but Twitter idiots any more. They aren't Picard or Troi or LaForge -- they're fucking Patrick Stewart, Marina Sirtis, and LeVar Burton and they're all utter morons.
I am more wtf with all the actors playing BIPOC parts that just decided to identify as the same untraditional manner. The people trying to be kind to their coworkers... I give them a pass. But, how simple minded do these kids have to be to take a part on a scifi show, and decide that's what you have always wanted to be?!
I was reading the article's that were calling them inspirations, and thinking they needed to be checked out mentally. Remember Lady Gaga had just went crazy making that movie? But, because of the topic they got cheered on.
That isn't really an endorsement, though. For the Picard show to be successful it needed to go back to being TNG since the first seasons were that bad. The first season literally rips off Mass Effect 1 plot wise!
I agree. I endorsed season 3 as being worthwhile, while saying I skipped the trash, and it wasn't needed.
I see this, and am almost tempted... but then I think to myself, "Is it really good in the broader scheme of historical media, or only really good compared to all the woke nonsense we've been shoveled the last decade or so?"
The latter. Consider that in order for a Picard series to actually be good they had to step back and do TNG again.
I skipped everything but this season. Idk if you know, but screen rant writes articles that are good, and detailed summaries. I used to read TNG books in high school, so reading episodes of any show never bothered me
My favorite scene.

It says a lot that even RedLetterMedia liked that season.
I would even watch it again.
Maybe. Frankly, I'm so burned out on their bullshit I can't bring myself to give a shit even if they actually managed to pull something off. It seemed far too pander-y to me. "LOOK LOOK LOOK WE BROUGHT BACK THE ENTERPRISE D! THEY'RE GONNA FIGHT THE BORG! YOU LOVE THAT SHIT DON'T YOU! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!"
At a certain point, I just have to let it go and move on.
The man who plays Riker was the director. I liked it, and I hope of you're bored you give season 3 a chance.
Btw they were fighting borg because they gmo'd Picard. His son was borg but didn't know it. You'll have to watch to find out who the mom is if you can't guess.
He already had a son he didn't know about (or, clone he didn't know about) in one of the last movies.
Johnathan Frakes is fine director, but I don't trust any of the writers.
I got a feeling I might.
