So if I'm researching correctly, it's a site that was shut down for book piracy? I've never heard of the site. I specifically see a lot of references to pirated college textbooks, which if I'm going to support piracy that's very high on the list of places I'd support. The whole college textbook industry can drown in the high seas as far as I'm concerned.
zlib has all of the books. everything. but especially old books. rare books. books that you couldn't possibly ever find or read. books that have been purged from our libraries, bookstores, and schools. it has first revisions of books that were later subtly changed to be more politically acceptable.
pick up some Lodge biographies from the 1800s, or memoirs and papers from the people that did the thing ~1917-1945 or so.
Yeah they had one of the largest repositories of books of all kinds. If I recommended a book to people I would often find it hosted there and share the link so people could get a sense of it before even considering a purchase
The site was shut down but you can still access the full library through TOR.
The US government had Argentina arrest some Russian citizens because they were running the site. Pretty incredible, even by the standards of the Current Year.
Gee I can't imagine why they wouldn't want people to have free access to a bunch of uncensored information.
It eliminated the excuse for ignorance, more or less.
Yes I'm sure Merrick Garland will get right on that. Make sure you ask Biden, Obama, and Trudeau for help too. All these politicians just need to know what WE THE PEOPLE want! They surely aren't misanthropic lizard people who would do the opposite out of spite.
