I burst out laughing when I saw this, he's going to kill twitter now, I think even the social media addicts are probably going to think twice about being on a site where you can't even block people.
The thing is, I fucking get it, because I've been on the receiving end of crazy people in my time block should be a standard feature on any site. Even without the crazies you can still be subjected to endless spam you don't want and it gets annoying. Even then, it's also extremely funny on the opposite end where you have twitter leftists that can't use block lists and stop people from responding to them, ohhhh this is going to be good.
Mute is still a function, all this would do is eliminate the spam leftists who swoop in, say dumb shit, then block who they replied to so they can’t make a rebuttal.
Being able to click a button to deny specific communists/OF girls/DeSantoids/retards in general any access at all to your posts is an absolutely vital feature on any site.
We'll see what happens, he's not been making good moves lately and his rebranding obsession as well, I don't think a lot of his userbase is going to care much for it. Much like with Facebook trying to call itself 'meta', everybody still calls it Facebook.

And yet Facebook hasn't burned down, so there you go. I don't even think it's possible for Elon to kill Twitter because the free discussion is what actually attracted people, not the censorship. Everything I hear about Threads says it's a boring Good Place esque wasteland.
