My wife has/had zero issues with female being overtly sexualized in games and vastly prefers it to the hogs in modern TV and gaming.
The only thing that's ever made her roll her eyes is female armor in fantasy games, which I mean yeah just say you want a sexy bitch don't try and writers room yourself on that one.
The gf is the one always watching the shows where people are fucking left and right. I generally prefer violence.
Game of Thrones was such a banger because it had something for everyone. And now they act like making that is some impossible mountain to climb.
Female armor in fantasy games is a shibboleth. The very concept of "female armor" implies that women are on the battlefield in numbers to justify armor existing in the setting, and not in solely desperation defenses, which means the entire setting is a hilariously ahistorical purely fantastical world from the outset, and insisting on any realism is a joke at best.
Since it is a pure fabrication, its form is a very clear shibboleth: How you "pronounce" your female armor showcases which territory, which faction, you come from. If the armor looks like it was made to please the target audience, it's likely from the faction that cares about their target audience having "fun". If it's armor that looks like it was made to please people who hate gaming and the concept of "fun", they're probably from the faction that hates games and fun.
