The church is one of the more (supposedly) "conservative" Anglican churches in this dumb fucking city. It was given by a woman from the "Centre for Public Christianity", which, I have established, is some sort of "Christian think tank" in this country...
It was utterly, utterly shit. Biggest turnout this church has had in decades, all for this woman to lecture us about how "Akshually, spiituality is the new religion, and Zoomers believe in ghosts, which is like, totally just as good as Jesus and going to church, ya know?"
Half of it was "statistics", and quotes from various shitty "eco-wiccan" authors and other "spiritualists". You could have taken the "Christianity" out of it, and it would have easily passed for a TED talk, or any "insert religion here" "look how woke we are" type speech...
It was horrible.
But the worst was the Q&A session afterwards. Questions were submitted through an app, and were then "voted on for popularity", before the extremely woke rector/host then selected which ones to ask...
None of the chosen questions were "hard hitting". Not one. Instead, they were around "belief in ghosts", "how can the Church atone for its historical sins?" and, "How can the Church claim to want to bring more people in, when it has historically excluded groups such as teh gayzzz?"
No joke.
So then I stuck around for the "discussion session" afterwards, which included free alcohol and snacks (yes, I know), where I was then simultaneously guilted for "Not believing with adequate conviction" and "Not knowing the Church well enough" (by a recently ordained black woman "priest", who I think was also married, because insanity), and then told that "The culture war doesn't exist", and that "Conservative media, such as the Spectator (which I link here all the time) are mean-spirited and smug and bigoted, and if you read them, you must be, too!", by this stupid bitch who gave this lecture...
By this point, almost all the attractive and not-insane young'ns (there were a few, initially) had left, so I decided to fuck off, too. Only to be chased down the street by some psycho old woman who accused me of trying to steal her car, from a nearby house (I'm not black. This is not a regular occurrence. She was just insane. So I just swore at her until she stopped following me, ahaha)... Really capped off my night. A+.
Anyway... For fuck's sake, Anglicanism. This is how you want to stay "relevant" and attract people to your "broad Church".
No wonder it's haemorrhaging people faster than almost any other religious "group". What. A. Joke...
There's your problem.
They literally wear rainbow pride flags on their clothes and tried to sanctify George Floyd.
There as "Conservative" as Episcopalians or Unitarians.
Technically Episcopalian and Anglican are almost synonymous, so... Yeah.
You're not wrong, just pointing out that, from a non-US perspective... They're much more similar than they are different, lol.
Many are called, few are chosen.
Honestly, bro, I dunno what are you expecting. Jesus wasn't promising that the world will love you - he promised that it'll hate you. And it does. Read the gospels carefully and, if you can see, you'll see that real faith was never meant to be prevalent in this world and Christianity as the world's prime religion (or one of the biggest ones) is one of the Satan's greatest tricks, really.
So if you think that there are any based branches of Christianity, like, say Orthodoxy, you'll be unpleasantly surprised. Sure, there's no LGBT there, but there's more than enough of other shit to compensate. This world we're living in is not supposed to be good, really, not on a large and sustainable scale.
I came back to Catholicism late last year.
I rock up to one of the three Latin masses here in this Aussie city, and in the confession queue(!) immediately get drawn into a conversationwith a nice old bloke about the globalists, the nwo, how the covid shot is all about compliance and not to be trusted... all led by him, I didn't bring any of it up, I don't exactly lead by revealing my true power level in new places. Then it turned to how great it is to see so many young families also there cause one of the little ones had come up and said something IIRC.
That was my experience of our more conservative Catholic churches, immediate denunciation by the lay folk of the world economic forum, before I even get into mass.
I didn't realise the 'more conservative' side of anglicanism was so lost.
And catholicism is of risk of being converted if the modern Pope is allowed to have as much power as the religion itself does. Remember, leftism undermines both from the bottom up and top down. As a distinterested party looking from afar, the current Pope is absolutely dangerous to the Catholic religion.
We've survived worse popes, the bottom up is healthier than ever.
Anglicanism was founded as a tool of the state, nothing more, nothing less. That they've gone from nodding along with the king's demands to seize monastic lands for his own profit & to sanction a divorce every time his queen fails to pump out a male heir, to sanctioning all sorts of modern paganism and the Satanic self-worship & degeneracy we call 'LGBTQ+ pride', should be no surprise. They were never supposed to have the balls to stand up to secular authority & secular trends to begin with, indeed the Acts of Supremacy make it abundantly clear that the CoE has no job except to suck off (or lick) its royal Supreme Governor and enthrall the minds and hearts of his/her subjects to their service forever. The same is true of the other Protestant state/mainstream churches, which is why they all suck and why the only Protestants who even still resemble Christians are the independent/'non-denominational'/Evangelical sorts these days.
It should tell you something that pretty much all the great thinkers of Anglicanism were either those with strong Catholic sympathies (the 'Anglo-Catholic' faction, many of whom are just straight up becoming Catholics now) or those with strong anti-state inclinations (many of whom expressed great sympathy with, or eventually just outright became, Puritans and other 'nonconformists').
The Anglican Church is unsalvageable and doomed to perish, as any church built on foundations as shaky as its own are, and the so-called 'conservatives' in its camp are about as effective as conserving the traditions (which the church's founder Henry VIII rejected) as modern neocons are at conserving theirs. Anyone with sense still in its ranks are outright becoming either Catholics or some other sort of Protestant depending on their personal sensibilities, same as the above philosophers.
You want an example of a state church that was actually cool in even the slightest regard, you basically have to look back to late Roman/Byzantine times. At least that church still burned heretics, had strength enough to drive Emperors to their knees and make them beg for forgiveness after committing great evil (the most famous example being Saint Ambrose excommunicating Theodosius I for having barbarian mercenaries put down a riot in Thessalonica by massacring the Roman citizenry) and donated its riches to help the Empire fight off the Sassanid Persians & Muslims.
Leftists are notorious for using the submissive nature of the modern Christian religion against themselves. They use the whole "Jesus loves everyone" bullshit to promote far left socialist/identitarian faggotry.
They don't understand that there is a common saying within Christianity to not "hate the sinner, but hate the sin" - and that even if a Christian will tolerate you being into buttsex and sucking gay cocks, they will still think you're degenerate and pray for your refuge.
They'll still think you're sinning, but they will also acknowledge it is not in their authority to control your life, that you ultimately undermine your own redemption into heaven through what you do.
It's actually a very libertarian position to have, but leftists have taken advantage of this to undermine modern Christianity and twist the Bible and Word of God to push their far left retardation.
The Church can atone for their historical sins by correcting those sins: vomiting out the lukewarm instead of catering to them, condemning heresy instead of embracing it, and seeking first the Kingdom of God instead of the adulation of man.
"Many will come to Me in that Day..."
I mean, it sounds like there were a lot of broads. Heh heh.
For good measure, here is an article from woke bitch's least favourite media org: https://archive.is/edJxh
My cousin works for this (now state controlled) "arts festival". I believe she may even be a "curator" of it. We no longer talk. Perhaps after reading it, you'll understand why...
Genuinely used to be good, when it was the "Melbourne Festival". No wonder the State Government, and the likes of my cousin, wanted that killed off...
More on this: https://archive.is/RXAia
I hate woke cunts. I really, really do.
I'm going to say something quite dark, here. Cities occasionally need to burn, or be destroyed, to cleanse things, when they become too decadent and downright... Degenerate.
All signs point to Melbourne being well and truly beyond that point, now.
It's like fucking Gotham. It's beyond saving. It is... Ground zero for some utterly fucked understanding of "humanity" and woke righteousness...
Reading this shit fucking makes my nails curl, and I've just been to one of these festivals...
Don't look to the Church for an alternative, though, or some sort of "light", because if it wasn't clear already, it's obviously not interested in providing one.
For the love of god, please see a therapist
When you're too much, even, for "Pravda on the Yarra", lol...

Good, I hope these stupid fucks, including my cousin, all lose millions of dollars, and go broke. Genuinely. Fuck them all...
About fucking time for the pendulum to swing back.
There's a place in Arizona called Sedona. It's a nice enough place, but there are tons of people who talk like that. Their nickname is rock worshipers. They're the type of folks that will blame religion in general for 9/11.
How they got into the Anglican church is beyond me.
