Just who are these 'leaders' leading? I don't think any evangelical Christian, left or right, cares about what Russell Moore thinks. Trump is the most popular president among evangelical Christians despite his immoralities, because they are smart enough not to cut off their nose to spite their face.
This is the editor in chief of Billy Grahams newspaper. Billy graham is the holy of Holies for the American evangelical community. By proxy he is beyond influential and part of the political cabal that has been trying to leftoid evangelical Christians. The only other movement I’ve seen on par with this is the effort on Catholics to become socialists, where even one of the major catholic publications said to vote for joe Biden because climate change was more important than abortion…
Yes, they are good at wearing skinsuits. But they're not good at getting anyone to follow them. If no one follows you, are you a leader?
Considering this is the largest evangelical publication in America and the editor in chief has been in charge since 2002 all objective signs point to it being influential
Influential is an empirical question. All signs point to it not being so, as Trump is more popular among evangelicals than even an evangelical like Bush, despite his immoralities. The bleating of these pathetic sheep did exactly nothing, or nothing significant at least.
You could argue they don’t hold sway specifically in the manner of Trump personally and his ability to get votes, but the corruption of churches has been a growing contagion, especially in the evangelical community, with the broader goal not being Trump, but the Overton window
Catholic doctrine has always been a via media between capitalism and socialism, and I can imagine that Americans would call that 'socialism'. See e.g. Rerum novarum. Both unbridled capitalism and communism/socialism are opposed by the Catholic Church, and rightly so.
The problem with the current pope is not "socialism" but the other stupid things, the retreat on the things which the Catholic Church unquestionably got right.
Well some are. I have family and some friends who probably are on Russell Moore's side. Too many American Christians don't seem to understand human nature and evil anymore, and are dazzled by evil appearing as an angel of light.
He was being the "Moral Conservative" and believing her lies. It's that nonsense that made them think it was a good idea to abandon Popular Culture in the 70s and allow the liberals unchallenged authority for nearly forty years.
There’s not one physical shred of evidence these people ever went to a department store together, let alone rape occurring in a public changing room. None of the evidence could even give a year of occurrence. Yet the “evangelical community” must act aghast of a guilty verdict. Gynocentric worship under the guise of Christiandom is becoming more and more tedious.
It is not 'gynocentric worship' or any other stupid buzzword, as if the same thing had happened to someone they did like (Biden), they would not be acting in the same way. It's not that it's a woman, it's that it's a strike against Trump, a man they irrationally despise more than anything.
Weinstein much? Al Franken much? Anthony Weiner much?
They ignored Weinstein until it became too much, same for Franken and Weiner. And they only sacrificed them because they were eminently replaceable. Note how they ignored any and all accusations against people who were not easily replaceable like Clinton and Biden.
It is, if a man went into a police station and said he was raped by a woman they would not even take a report.
And yet they do.
This is entirely gynocentric worship
If the same had happened to Biden or some Democrat who was still useful to them, they'd have ignored it completely. So yeah, they don't care. Imagine persuading yourself that these people have any principles, even bad ones.

The worst churches in the US are the descendants of the Puritans. Institutions get corrupted.
I don't think he has any real influence, either personally or through his rag.

Yes, that is a real problem. I think this guy is more a symptom than a cause of that though.
I mean, is the current pope spreading catholic doctrine?
Catholic doctrine has always been a via media between capitalism and socialism, and I can imagine that Americans would call that 'socialism'. See e.g. Rerum novarum. Both unbridled capitalism and communism/socialism are opposed by the Catholic Church, and rightly so.

The irony is that distributism could most accurately be described as third position.
Well some are. I have family and some friends who probably are on Russell Moore's side. Too many American Christians don't seem to understand human nature and evil anymore, and are dazzled by evil appearing as an angel of light.
That's why I accept man's fallen nature even though I am an atheist. Because it's empircally demonstrable.
I saw Billy Graham's true colors when he said Hillary Clinton would make a great President.
Yeah, he said that.
Oddly enough, Superstar Billy Graham, the pro wrestling legend, is a far better human being.
He was being the "Moral Conservative" and believing her lies. It's that nonsense that made them think it was a good idea to abandon Popular Culture in the 70s and allow the liberals unchallenged authority for nearly forty years.
Wait, when did he say that?
I don't remember exactly when, but they did share a stage together at least once, and that's when he said it.
I saw this happen on television.

dangerous implications of what, exactly?
the bitch made up a story to get money. you don't get to sue someone decades later for something that never happened.
Didn’t they change the statute of limitations timeframe as well?
Yes. To allow for this case. On a completely unrelated note, bills of attainder are called out as a no-no in the constitution itself.
Christianity Today is not a Christian magazine.
"Devastating Implications"
You mean like the implication that lying doesn't always pay out? Why would a Christian organization be upset with such an implication....
