I paid money to support Right Wing free speech, reversing an unrelenting assault from the Left for years.
Reddit trannies banned me over 30 times. Elon hasn't banned me once.
He earned my $8.
I don't trust that Elon has our best interests at heart in the slightest (he's no free speech absolutist), but there's this weird defeatist/tribal streak among people on the Right that he shouldn't be trying to keep it the #1 social media platform in the world or even make it profitable at all. Basically "Twitter is a cesspool so it needs to die." These people will point out how much of a traitor/grifter/liar he is by not sacrificing twitter on the altar of free speech. No he can't make any concessions to advertisers. No you can't pay his stupid $8. LET. IT. DIE. If you don't become Torba and get banned on all the app stores then fuck you and your $44B you WEF stooge.
I understand and agree with the complaints about censorship. But don't be surprised that the boss is not listening to people demanding he sacrifice his time/money/platform for the greater good. Elon's in it for Elon, but this is how it would have to happen even if he's totally fighting the globalists. Play the long game.
He doesn't need to be either (as I think you say later on). A free speech absolutist would run Twitter into the ground. What you need is someone who allows as much free speech as possible, consistent with the paramount goal of the company's survival.
For the record, Twitter was never the #1 social media platform in the world by any metric.
Carry on. 👍
He wants it to be that with the X app, outside of China.
thenoticing hashtag was on trending for a while before it got taken down by Elon.

You're right, fuck paying for services. Its much better to be the product being sold, right?
Chill out dude, I was just poking fun at elon and the situation, idc what you sign up for
It's terrible for Twitter to not be reliant on advertisers which pressure it to censor content.
