Right. And I oppose the US government having the ability to do that, which would then make the donors irrelevant.
The government has that ability because the donors want it to. Nothing libertarians would be willing to do will ever take power from these people so these objections to what they are doing with their power are hollow.
I think you underestimate what we'd be willing to do. It's not surprising, the party's nominees up to this point have behaved in a way that would reasonably give that impression.
Which is what? What tool other than government would you use to stop donors from lobbying and donating to politicians to keep re-creating these policies?
It's not about preventing the lobbying. It's about preventing the government from having power to create those policies. My lawyer has advised me not to be explicit about the means for that, but the 14 words involved do not start "we must."
