Love Karl Urban's work, but he is 200% not Johnny Cage.
But the first rebooted Mortal Kombat was horrible anyway. The only thing people keep praising it for is the "gore" and "fatalities". The plot made no sense and the fight scenes were horribly edited and filmed.
I expect the sequel to be filled with race-swaps and woke nonsense. Though I am impressed that they kept Johnny Cage white, but they'll somehow find a way to emasculate him even with someone like Urban playing him.
Ed Boon and subsequently Netherrealm studio are hard gay lefty/blm supporters. Any project he has any say in will be unwatchable.
Johnny Cage is the ego that walks like a man.
He has technical skill and he works out hard. That shouldn't help much against literal superhuman soldiers or supernatural creatures who were born to fight.
Johnny's knows in himself that he is the best! "How could this cyborg killing machine beat me? I'm Johnny Cage!"
His ego is so huge, his attitude so bombastic that he has pushed himself past any kind of sane human limit!
I am not sure that relaxed, deadpan Karl Urban could pull that off.
Kano was great. The OC protagonist ruined everything he touched. Since Kano is dead and Brick is alive, it's easy to imagine the creators stubbornly clinging to the worst parts of the first move.
Exactly. Kano carried that movie.
Maybe Kano will be back and the OC Doughnut will be banished to the nether realm
