They have been pushing that since at least the 90s. I got told that in the early 00s when I questioned the rising amount of gay characters on tv and suggested they have their own channel

Pretty much. I remember when the line was “what consenting adults do behind closed doors is none of your business” I was fine with that. But I guess that wasn’t enough. Or people who don’t care what gay ppl do but maybe they aren’t interested in heavy lgbt content in their entertainment but they were attacked
