I welcome a governor willing to tell the Federal Reserve to fuck off. IMO we need 49 others just like him.
My question is: why would you want to replace such a governor with someone who may not be so willing to tell the Federal Reserve to fuck off (which would have to happen if said governor were elected to Federal office)?
All digital technology has this double-edged nature. There was a time that I was excited for an all digital future where an AI assistant helps keep track of your schedule and habits and helps you build a more sustainable life. Where you could seamlessly connect with like-minded people across the globe and where you can find anything you need to purchase or research instantly at your fingertips.
The sad reality is that any way that a group (government, private, or ngo) can use that to control you, they will. It will be used to surveil, manipulate, and control you. Unfortunately, anything that is taken out of the real world and centralized is going to be used by people who want to control people to control people.
"Central banks need to come together to not do thing they want to do" good luck with that desantis. But anyone in that position has to pretend at least to not recognize the banks as the enemy or they'll kill him, so he might actually be clever.
Banks have been manipulating currency and weaponizing their positions for a long time. Government and banks working together is the globalists favorite strategy. Look at when the Obama admin worked with banks and CC companies to try to shut out firearm and ammo companies from doing business for a contemporary example.
They are looking to continue the trend of 'thing we said was ridiculous and would never happen, happens, and it's a good thing'.

That's exactly what a digital currency will be used for. Digital currency has its economic benefits too but the biggest benefit is control.

I don't understand why banks would be on board with this.

If a journalist knew anything about finance- he wouldn’t be a journalist.
This is all so hollow. The companies using ESG to avoid sex discrimination law are still in FL pension fund portfolios.
