As they wrap up their seditious-conspiracy case, prosecutors are arguing that Proud Boys chief Enrique Tarrio and other leaders of the group handpicked and mobilized a loyal group of foot soldiers — or “tools” — to supply the force necessary to carry out their plot to stop the transfer of power from Donald Trump to President Joe Biden after the 2020 election.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Exactly HOW would taking over a building cause this?
Here's the best part that I didn't even know until it was brought up in this case:
Not one protester entered the House where the count was being made in the first place. They could have counted it without even being interrupted. They instead chose to interrupt their own session.
The protesters got into the Senate, where no one was at. Then they were let into the senate.
That is the basis of the sedition. If congress interrupts it's own session, then you "insurrected".
It's a very common trope in articles parroting the "muh insurrection" narrative. A leaning on ignorance. The most charitable interpretation towards journalists is they are implying: "Hurr durr stupid magatards thought they could take over the US government with ropes." A more likely explanation (and the reason they never explain how the theory doesn't make sense) is that they know their readers are ignorant and stupid enough to believe that the rioters were a threat to Our Democracy. "Thank God we had heroes there that day like Officer Byrd to stop the madness, otherwise we'd be living in some Hitler remake."
A less charitable interpretation is that the journalists themselves don't know how US elections work either. That's probably the truth.
