Well to be fair young people are bombarded with the idea that america is evil and every bad thing America has done is played on and endless loop. There is never any context like the fact that slavery was once very common across the world or that it still is. Also conquering native Americans is endlessly brought up even though land conquest was quite common in the world.
Add all that to how trendy it is to be non white and “oppressed” and this is what you get. I’m surprised and saddened you would see young Asians thinking this was though.

Exactly. Growing up in Oklahoma we would have Native American speakers come whenever we had Oklahoma history units and they talked about wars between tribes. Like you said that isn’t mentioned much. Reminds me of when Sowell was writing about how they talk about how Shaka Zulu was conquered by British but never how Shaka Zulu was ruthless to the neighboring tribes.
