it's been a hot minute since I was in elementary school, but I'm pretty sure girls had cooties back then.

there were all these rules on the cootie shot too... it was basically like the covid jab. first it was:

circle circle dot dot, now i got my cootie shot

but then the girls would grab you somewhere else and you got cooties, so then it was:

circle circle square square, now i got it everywhere

but then the girls would grab you the next day, so then it was:

circle circle knife knife, now i got it all my life

and then the girls were still finding loopholes to infest us with cooties. i didn't know what cooties were, but i damn well knew i didn't want them.

or maybe it had to do with the fact that we were playing football, soccer, basketball, and blocks, and the girls didn't ask to join.
