You think this is good news but look at who made it to the general.
Paul Vallas made it to the general.
Vallas is running as a moderate law-and-order candidate.
Brandon Johnson made it to the general.
Johnson is running as the most far left progressive.
Brandon Johnson is much more far left than Lori Lightfoot.
Looking at the demographics of Chicago, Brandon Johnson is sadly more likely to win the general election than Paul Vallas.
If that happens, Chicago will get worse.
They are about to get someone worse than Lightfoot.
We can't expect Democratic hive cities to significantly improve, the question is whether or not Johnson is going to endorse the SAFE-T act and burn the city down. If you're right, we kinda win either way. Chicago has to temper it's stupidity with remembering that LE is not inherently bad, or it will literally kill itself to death. Either way: Chicago will get better or have less influence going forwards.

You mean blacks? Blacks don't necessarily vote for the most far-left candidate though, see Eric Adams and Kneeling Joe.
What's more, I looked at some of the vote totals. Vallas got 37%. A candidate who voted for Trump got 10%. You can safely give at least 80% of his vote to Vallas. And if Brandon is more far-left than Lightfoot, I'm pretty sure he can get at least some of her votes.

As if the infamous Chicago Political Machine would do any different?

Good! Good! Let them fight!
They'll deserve what they get, in that case.
