Literally every character who isn't Vegeta or Goku is relegated to a background nobody. They deliberately sold the most recent movie on "we are letting Gohan actually do something" because of how bad the problem is across the entire series.
Also, Bulma is basically the most important character outside those two for almost the entirety of DB Super. She has superseded almost everyone else in plot importance and almost none of the events could have happened unless she was there. And she has never once been a housewife in the slightest, in fact Vegeta is a literal househusband for her which is why he can spend all day every day training and goofing off.
Yeah, but as anyone whose ever looked at the very common "popularity poll" that Japan loves to run, the Japs have the absolute worst taste in series and should be barred from having opinions.

That movie is quite literally a rehash of The Cells Games. Cell is even the big bad and Gohan only wins because someone gets killed, he thinks, which pushes him over the edge into a new form.
Let's be real, the entire franchise should have concluded with the Frieza saga. Everything past that has been aimless meandering because the bags of money keep raining down.
Cooler was also almost a complete repeat of the Freiza saga down to exact details being the same. Broly was literally ripping off Broly wholesale just cuz "muh canon." That isn't anything new for the series, as most of the movies for DB were rehashes of the main show cut down to feature length.
I enjoyed it just because it was still a bunch of higher budget action sequences than anything Super is capable of putting out, and that's all I'm interested in the series for.

It's because, even in Japan, the fans kept going "Who's THIS loser? We want GOKU!"
This even dates back to when the Buu saga was airing. The Japanese viewers did NOT want Gohan to become the new lead.
There really is nothing new under the sun.

The entire anime industry is held up by a single pillar called Idolmaster.
That one franchise makes SO much money that it makes up for ALL the other losses.

Just like what happened in The Cell Games...
It's one of the laziest DB productions in years.
