International Women's Day in a large corporation: week-long events with daily offerings on professional improvement, affirmations of your greatness, senior management posting about whatever hashtag is popular.
International Men's Day in that same company is either: A) Ignored B) One Teams call with a speaker, the essence of which is 'men - maybe don't kill yourself? kthxbye'
Wasn’t it the UN that went even further, saying something like, “On this International Men’s Day, we celebrate the women in our lives”?
Men don’t need nearly as much attention and affirmation as women do, so Men’s Day, to me, really isn’t super necessary, we tend to just do our jobs without expecting thanks or to be told how amazing and brave we are. But there’s definitely something that feels shitty about “Hey men, this is your day! But in another more accurate way, it’s women’s day 2: Electric Boogaloo!”

Found the UN post.
I suppose coming from “UN Women” it’s more expected to see a post in the style of “International Men’s Day, women most affected” but I think if I wanted to wish another group a happy Them Day, I’d just say that and stop talking.
…then again, “stop talking” is a very difficult thing for women amirite amirite
