I was in the USMC (in the 90s). You don't need a gym to get a perfect score on any of their fitness tests, because everything tested is based on simple shit like pullups, crunches, running, pushups, etc. All stuff you can do without a gym or any equipment. Army and other branch stuff is even more of a joke.

The main issue is getting fat and lazy, which is the only reason people fail, since you don't even need to exercise at all to get passing scores as long as you're not a fat slob.

Also I know from other people that if you're in the Army and get fat, they give you a million chances to fix your shit before they fire you. If you're in a semi-important job, they'll move mountains to avoid firing you even if you're a fatass, and delay it a lot and try super hard to help you and make it easier on you. I knew a dude who was in this position and they gave him tons of chances and pressured him and helped him just to be able to baaaarely make the absolute minimum so they didn't have to fire him.

Basically what the Navy is saying here, is even people who fucked up over a long period of time and were already being processed out, are going to be given even more chances and have their firing delayed even more. I doubt it will make much difference between "okay you get one more chance" doesn't work when they already had lots of prior chances.

100% I bet you this is because of women, because women are the most prone to getting fat, and the woke military is desperate to hold onto women and push more women into the force even though they're markedly inferior to men. I fucking weep for how fucked we are in the next war if we have to go to war with a force of 20-30%+ USELESS women who can't fucking fight and can't handle high stress situations, hobbling the force because faggot politicians in uniform cared more about making Democrats happy than about actually doing their jobs to maximize military readiness.

Being locked up on post and relegated to the barracks does hurt your cardio.

Not when literally confined to barracks during covid. There's no room in rooms for that.
