ALL Chinese corporations should be banned from doing business in the United States until they repeal all the bullshit limits they place of US corporations in China. US companies aren't even allowed to operate in China. They have to create a subsidiary that is majority-owned by Chinese.
Seize all Chinese-owned US land while we're at it, auction it back to Americans, and give the proceeds to something wholesome like veteran services.
We could do that in a war, but it wouldn't be legal or possible now. We could ban chinese ownership of American assets, and put an additional tax on them, which would force them to sell and lose money.
We should also ban all chinese companies from being listed on American stock exchanges & ban American ownership of Chinese companies and assets.
"Veterans" get too much money as it is, most of which goes into the pockets of bureaucrats. This harms American military readiness by making US military personnel artificially expensive.

I'm aware there's a bunch of issues, I just wanted something for an example that is, in theory, non-objectionable, as the idea of the government hanging on to money from selling seized property from previously legal contracts is...well, I'm not a fan. But I suppose asking the government to responsibly distribute money is even more unreasonable than asking them to take on China.
Your idea is better, just make it unprofitable and detrimental for certain foreign entities to hold US land, encouraging them to sell on the (allegedly) open market.
I'm pretty libertarian. Reason magazine isn't libertarian, they're corporate dick suckers. They don't care about individual rights or freedoms, they care about corporate "rights" to do as they please with no oversight or limitations of any kind. Reason magazine's Heaven is like the movie Robocop or Aliens where corporations run everything.
Reason magazine supports corporate censorship of the Right, for example. They supported Trump getting banned, and then when Right wingers tried to make their own competitor social media site and that got banned too by bigger corpos that controlled the network infrastructure, Reason supported that, too.
Libertarianism is about maximizing freedom. Corporatism isn't freedom, it's just exchanging one slave master (govt) for another (corpos).
What people need to realize about the Libertarian Party and the mainstream libertarian movement in general, it is as much controlled as the Democrats & Republicans, progressive movements & mainstream conservative movements.
There is a reason that Reason isn't focusing on the implications of giving out personal info to view social media content online. There is a reason why when the subject of ID for social media or ID for online porn comes up, that you will almost never hear the argument about this leading to corporate censorship & government censorship. They will make it about the "role of government" and "parent's responsablity" knowing damn well that these are arguments made to not sway the general public.
Make no mistake, people are getting fed up with their young kids seeing porn and they are getting fed up with their kids (particularly girls) getting weird ideas (particularly Woke Gender & Race Idealogy) from social media, they are going to demand solutions and they will get a solution, we can't let NeoCons give a solution that will lead to worse problems. Requriing IDs to view/use social media or view online porn is not the answer. We should offer the least government intrusive solution possible, which is mandatory parental control software in computers, smart phones, smart TVs, etc. Much like the mandatory V chip in TVs back in the 1990s.
A privacy conscious technical solution is possible but it would cost the federal government billions.
Make drivers licenses into two factor authenticators and have the federal government host a software service that only leaves third parties with “yes” or “no” for age verified.
Why would it cost billions? If the law would only increase liability for websites that allowed kids to access specific content, industry will come up with their own solution. Might even be this one. You don't have to convert ALL licenses even though that would be nice.
But if there is going to be age verification for porn, it's only fair that there be age verification for social media.
Excellent point. Validation on social media is to women what porn is to men and it's far more harmful. I'd be fine torching sites like Facebook but YouTube still has its uses. Porn will just go underground, and it's probably better that those sites fly under the radar. They're harder for wokies to control if they're smaller and decentralized.
Tiktok should be banned from the US entirely.

Not impossible. Just very expensive.

They're just going to kill those sites and the ones left will see nothing but VPN traffic.
