The whole localization and distribution model is behind the times. Multiple studios should get together and create their own CrunchyRoll alternative, but instead of paying for professional translations, let any fan groups submit translations, the way YouTube used to allow user translations. In fact they could still pay for submissions through a bidding process. Users could vote for the best translations.
Or the companies could pressure CrunchyRoll to fix their shit.
If you're downloading from meow in Japanese, you're mostly going to find the same subs for anything currently airing. CR rips killed a big chunk of the fansub scene.
Is this not something the Japanese studios could file a lawsuit over? I know they are several steps removed from the process and someone has to inform them about what happened, but they are partly responsible for allowing their product to be turned into shit.
This is why companies need to do internal translation teams.

I don't even get it, it's the white woman's anime and they fuck it up? Why? Thought this way right up their alley.
"This isn't for you" is a paper thin mask over "this is for me". No exceptions.
Was it the same vapid cunt that did the Onimai subs and was like "what would I say at this point?" instead of translating it correctly?
Let me guess, crunchyroll? This is why I only watch fansubs.

just as well, a lot of the stuff out there was irredeemably shit
Meow?
Just use AI for subtitles and voice dubs at this point. It literally cannot be worse lol.
