Masayoshi Arai, an economic official who joined Kishida’s administration last fall, said people would leave the country if same sex-marriage was allowed, adding that he wouldn’t want to live next to a gay or lesbian couple or even look at them, local new outlets reported.
Kishida’s approval ratings are also underwater after a series of resignations as national support for same-sex marriage is growing, opinion polls have showed
Doesn't seem like it, considering he has had multiple members of his team forced out because they aren't pro-gay entirely on their own.
Also based on my experience with anime polls, the Japanese who answer these things are the lowest IQ of their entire populations and should be ignored in all cases for the best outcome. And that's assuming its a totally legit poll only being answered by the actual Japanese population.
I wouldn't be surprised if a Twitter that was exporting American values to Japan had some effect on those numbers and wonder if support will drop over time without constant propaganda.
i would like to point out though that kishida's approval ratings being low has nothing to do with this . It was because of the unification church sandal, the LDP were found out to have connections with this korean cult that said "korea is adam country, japan is eve country and japan sinned and needs to pay money and people to korea"
kishida's ratings are bad because of the LDP's connections to the unification chuch. Which was a korean cult that believes that "korea is adam country and japan is eve country and japan sinned and needs to pay money and people to korea"
If they harbor a deep hatred and hostility towards a community such as calling all gays pedophiles, I would want them removed. That kinda bullshit doesn't belong in government.
If it's just some guy being disgusted, so the fuck what. Nut up and get over it. How were his policies?
I don't literally agree with what he said - which was probably a half-joking comment to another guy and not at all official - but I think these kind of "extreme" positions that weren't always extreme need to be encouraged and shown as acceptable so the NHK liberal position doesn't become dominant through social conditioning. The government doesn't need to officially sanction that view, but there shouldn't be any punishment either. He should have been quietly sidelined or the statements ignored. Who is the PM virtue signaling to?
I'm disappointed he apologized, but that's typical of Japan.
Damn he did not hold back.
STATE ENFORCED

Weird headline.
This is very suspicious, I would not trust what this guy is doing unless the replacements are hostile to gender theory and the regressive left.

That kind of hostility to harmful behaviors and people is what a healthy society looks like.
