Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be true. Yeah, when asked, people will say they don't believe the media... and then they go and lap up everything the media say anyway. It's basically an extension to the Gell-Mann Amnesia: https://loricism.fandom.com/wiki/Gell-Mann_Amnesia_Effect
