This does appear to be very nearly disinformation on the part of the newspaper.

This come about because THIS report usest the MAP term on document page 31/ PDF page 34.

Let's tackle each part of this:

• "Police Scotland" have not ceased officially referring to pedophiles as MAPs.
• A "Police Scotland" constable did create the above report and use the word MAP
• This word was already used by the "EU Project" that was being referenced in the statement which contained this word.
• This "EU Project" has already been referring to pedophiles as MAPs.
• "Police Scotland" claim that they have convinced this "EU Project" to stop using the term MAP.

So, not only is the narrative that the EU was pushing PS to adopt MAP, but the police are counter claiming that PS persuaded the EU to drop MAP.

Take this for what you will. I think the bigger point is that the EU already used MAP to begin with.
