They could easily adapt some great storylines from Marvel history
Big problem there is a lot of the larger plot devices used in those stories are either:
A: Dead in the MCU, like Cap, Iron Man, Black Panther, Loki, and whoever else.
B: Completely different in the MCU, like the Skrulls, Inhumans [Ms Marvel is meant to be one except might turn out to be a mutant of all things instead], Mutants [don't call them X-Men tho' 🙄], Atlanteans, and various others.
So a lot of the most popular Marvel stories simply don't have the core cast any more or the background because the groups that should be involved aren't anything like what the comics use. There can be no Secret Invasion like in the comics because the Skrulls in Captain Marvel are nothing like what has been one of the longest running themes in the comics. The Kree are similarly screwed up because of the same movie. The Inhumans flopped so badly even the comics that were more or less pushing for the Inhumans over the Mutants ended up flipping back the other way and not outright cancelling the mutant stories simply because another company held the movie rights.
Of course it's not stopping Marvel given the future line up of movies coming, like Secret War, but it simply doesn't have the foundation or playing pieces to work anywhere near as well as the original comics did and even then that's a push since the original Secret War comic was really just a gimmick to sell toys and fuck over various characters that Shooter didn't like, namely any of the X-Men/mutants.
I guess I should’ve said they could have. Their priority isn’t to make good stories. They place representation/lgbt over storytelling. I think a properly done Maximum Carnage, Executioner Song, Korvac saga, and so many more.

And also they actually said they don’t care about the source material and it’s a red flag when the applicants say they are a fan of the comics.
"Hey, you know all those things which made us popular? Let's not use those!"
"Why the flip are we bankrupt?!"
Ha!!! I’m almost convinced they literally said that.

The future us female, don't you know.
