Short summary: An MP in Trudeau's Liberal Party had introduced some last-minute - to the point of being introduced after the Canadian Parliament can change it - changes to the C-21 Canadian firearms bill - that add a raft of firearms to the list to be banned, some apparently for no reason other than the Liberal MP Paul Chaing doesn't like them.
Because this has happened after debate time, it's now only possible to pass the bill including this amendment or discard the entire thing.
I suspect that's the intention, to railroad the Canadian Parliament into passing a sweeping ban rather than nothing.
They honestly shouldn't be, but in lib societies, foreigners are perfect because they are extremely programmable in universities, which is where they learn to be good NPCs. Since they have no national identity, they eagerly adopt left wing ideology so they can find acceptance.
The most important part I found was that centerfire guns that were designed to accept more than 5 rounds in a detachable magazine are banned. That’s pretty much all semi autos apart from sks and m1 Garand but guess what? They are banned by name.
So what do this leave in semi auto? I guess rimfires are ok for now and semi auto tube mag shotguns. Maybe there is some obscure less than 5 round tube mag or fixed mag semi auto not banned YET
What if you get a single shot bolt action but stick a big ass autoloader on it, like a big box that rapidly cycles it so it can function like it's full auto.
Libs would lose their minds. "What bro? It's a single shot I just reload it super fast with a robot"
Like a Pederson device. Another loophole I thought of was a semi auto revolver rifle since it doesn’t have a magazine. But maybe that wouldn’t work because 6 bullets
