In the primary I originally supported Allen West.

Now I think it might have been lucky for us that Abbott won the primary. We may mock Beto but he had a real good chance at winning if we had nominated West or Huffines.

Squishy suburban moderate Republicans in Texas will sadly choose even radical Democrats like Beto when given a choice between a truly based conservative like West/Huffines versus a Dem.

Abbott has a huge political machine and he dragged the whole ticket to victory. I was actually afraid Paxton might lose.

I may rag on him a lot but I am very grateful Abbott atleast keeps the state from going blue.

I agree. I liked West but like you said I felt Abbott had the best chance. And it is crazy how the squishy Republicans in suburbs will support a far left candidate

Squishy suburban Republicans will doom the country to Democratic rule.

Many of them refused to vote for Herschel Walker in GA and many of them refused to vote for Masters/Lake in Arizona.

Some of them even refused to vote for Oz in PA and Oz is the definition of squishy moderate.

These clowns just refuse to vote for based conservatives or Trump affiliated candidates.
