In a gilded, garish ballroom at Mar-a-Lago Tuesday night, former president Trump announced that he’s running for office yet again.
The more-than-hour speech was a low-tone version of what the defeated, twice-impeached former president facing mounting legal and political peril has been proclaiming for years: Everything is good when he’s in charge, and everything is awful when he is not.
The most striking part of the night was not what he said or how he said it. The Trump aesthetic has always been a mask, a glitzy, gaudy cover for his angry approach. These images by photographer Mark Peterson (swipe 👈 ) capture the ways in which his most loyal supporters have adopted that paradoxical style as their own: biker vests and brick-wall-patterned suits, bedazzled brooches and purses, a “Let’s Go Brandon” tattoo.
On vivid display was a crowd that was thick with ride-or-die conspiracists and conspicuously light on more prominent and powerful figures from the GOO that he once totally held in his thrall.
What's amazing is that these are clearly bad photos. Not as in bad quality, but bad for the subject matter. Anyone can see that, and they truly think this will make the left look good.
They truly are infants. Children than hurl names and then cry over someone typing "N".
On an artistic level, I kind of agree, but everyone can tell that these images are not intended to be the subjects proverbial good side and is intended to be an unflattering photo.
I have to disagree. I think they can see that, and they just don't care. Knowing that something is wrong and still using it for their end goals? Textbook partisanship.
Looks like the photographer positioned held the flash low, with no diffuser, so he could make them all look like they are telling scary stories around a campfire.
Roger Stone looks like a scifi or war movie general ordering them to not only keep advancing but to drop every fucking bomb they have until the enemy quits surrendering like cowards and instead shits themselves to death in fear!
Massa Charlie looks like his neighbor found her stolen panties in his glovebox and is about to become roadkill.

The left is truly unhinged.

I don't know, I kind of like them. It's not a type of photo you see in such 'professional detail'. They're so bad they're good to me.

The comments on that Politico post are almost completely moronic support ("OMG THEY LOOK SO EEEVILLL") so no, not everyone can see that.

They cry over the word “despite” now!
