It does seem odd they allowed him to say some of the stuff he said

No, they knew. They could have cut to commercial and got him of stage if they really wanted to.
He played them really well. Every time he was getting to being kicked off, he said something they agreed with, or that sounded like what they wanted. He was watching more than the crowd for this one.
I was really impressed at what he said without saying it. That was a masterclass in stand up.
imagine thinking they would have let the guy keep going for 8 more minutes if they didn't want him to. because he "tricked them".
The video is up on the official SNL channel. They don't seem like they're all that upset about it so it seems like a planned controversy/denial to me.
Good point, but the ADL and jewish news media is already on him about it.
He's also a master of double-speak so he probably had them fooled for a bit. For example, he said there's a lot of jews in Hollywood, but then goes on to say there's also a lot of blacks in Ferguson, MI and that doesn't mean they run the place.
I never watched that many Dave Chappelle standups but I like the guy for his use of double-speak. He also did fine job with tackling the abortion issue by saying men shouldn't have say in matter since they are not the one carrying the babies but women should better not say a thing about wanting alimony or child support if man decides to walk away.
