I'm still approaching the premise of justified expulsion as a hypothetical, I'm not saying it was justified or it wasn't. But the concept is easier to understand now.
(edit - well I'm still not clear on what kind of things they were supposedly doing to be expelled, but that seems like a longer conversation. At any rate, the psychological angle isn't as puzzling as it was)
