Or alternatively, the EU needs to be reformed with leaders that aren't corrupt and willing to defend people's freedoms and rights against Big Business.
You can dissolve the EU, but so long as there is a free market what's going to happen is that Big Business will be used to enforce policies and regulations across country lines.
Getting rid of the EU won't get rid of the WEF. The EU is just a tool used by the elites to push their agenda. If the EU was run by based politicians, I'm sure none of us would be advocating for its dissolution.
While we can hope that the bill passes, we should expect the worst. There's vested interests that are going to stop at nothing to prevent it from going through.
Even if it does, the cure might have devastating side-effects to the online ecosystem and the global economy.
Looks like the next big battle for free speech is coming right up. The EU is doubling down on controlling speech, and it's going to affect everyone as we're dealing with a few international companies that control all major social media platforms.
If this works for them, it's going to mean more censorship, more thought police, more authoritarian bullshit.
If this doesn't work and the companies don't play ball, it might lead to the balkanization of the internet. Honestly, that's a concerning prospect that would probably result in the total collapse of the globalism and the global economy.
Why? Because so much money is tied in Big Tech in an international network of companies. Balkanize the internet which is what made all of this possible, and in an instant we'll go back to the 90s in a very destructive way.
The EU is a fully controlled American vassal - the silence after the destruction of the nordstream pipelines proves it.
EU ideology is Globohomo ideology, which is handed down from the US.
I believe the US uses the EU to pass laws that will effect the whole world, in situations where it would not be able to pass such laws in their own country.
Honestly, that's a concerning prospect that would probably result in the total collapse of the globalism and the global economy.
You know the petrodollar is propping up globalism right now too and our "leaders" in the West are doing their best to destroy it. The new Russo-Sino-Iranian petro renminbi is going to be a reality soon, and it will remain long after the war in Ukraine ends.
I've said and agreed with this sentiment, when it was no longer just a trade union and began being political, the EU outlived it's usefulness. It needs to be torn down and either have only the original trade focus only or not exist at all.
Or, hear me out, we say eff that we don’t officially do business in the eu, we just do not enforce our non eu resident requirement to sign up for our platforms. And get bent.
So the US needs a law that bans tech firms from moderating "false information, hate speech, and extremism" in any country they operate in. This needs to be a party platform issue.
While on paper a good idea, what would end up happening is that the countries that have laws requiring moderating "false information, hate speech, and extremism" are just going to ban those companies from operating in their territories until they meet these laws.
Don't threaten me with a good time. ;) I don't see any problem with the "balkanization" you suggested above either. The Internet is meant to be decentralized. Get the euros off our platforms and let them build their own.
HOWEVER I could compromise on a system where companies set up special admin accounts for law enforcement officials to moderate illegal posts on their own. Or law enforcement could point to specific content and have a special contact address to request it be taken down in some reasonable amount of time.
Basically if EU wants to moderate let them pay for "content cops" themselves.
Yeah, like we enjoy our Chinese Great Fire Wall or the Great Barrier Firewall from Aussieville. Commercialization has ruined great chunks of the internet, but the EU ain't going to force shit down our throats. Internet companies can change their product to suit the locale, unlike physical tech companies ala Apple and Samsung.

No, it needs to be dissolved. It was formed by subversive means and shouldn't exist in the first place.
Getting rid of the EU won't get rid of the WEF. The EU is just a tool used by the elites to push their agenda. If the EU was run by based politicians, I'm sure none of us would be advocating for its dissolution.
People should govern themselves on their own territories.

The 'global economy' should be killed.

Well the EU needed to be destroyed anyway, might as well make it official.
I've said and agreed with this sentiment, when it was no longer just a trade union and began being political, the EU outlived it's usefulness. It needs to be torn down and either have only the original trade focus only or not exist at all.
NATO has also outlived its usefulness the past 30 or so years.

Thanks to Poland and Hungary for voting for this sociopath.
