The real question is why any self-respecting White person would ever want to sit through an openly political nogfest struggle session anyways, let alone pay for it.
I watched the original on a plane due to seemingly everyone I knew raving about what an amazing movie it was. It wasn't, it was competent at best, a by the numbers movie that followed the same exact superhero origin story we've been seeing for decades (with a much less interesting character) while throwing out some "colonizer" rhetoric. I didn't even know there was a sequel but can only imagine how bad it must be.
Really interesting how media hype can cause people to believe something is so much better than it is
Couple reasons. One, they have to consume every MCU movie and show out of fear of missing out on what is clearly the cultural sensation of the millennium. Doesn't matter if the MCU has been going steadily downhill; the last ten movies and shows might have sucked ass, but the next one could be totally awesome and they could all be building up to something legendary that will completely justify why everything before was so shitty. Either way, they won't know unless they watch it!
Two, they are compelled to show their support for black people to prove that they are totes not racist. To that end, they are willing to ignore if not outright accept all the naked hostility and metaphorical shit flung at them by black people for the past half-century because they deserve to be a "little" angry at all the white people who are responsible for oppressing them for merely existing. After all, it's not racist when they do it; racism is power plus privilege after all! So no cardinal sin is being committed anyway! And they're sure to get it out of their system eventually, and when they do, we can all join hands under the rainbow in diversity...right?

Black Panther was extremely basic
Especially since the lead actor died before the sequel could be filmed.

They wouldn't.
