I got it in the mail late last month but was busy so I finally finished it today and I have to say it’s pretty good and it’s good enough for me to want to read the next issue. I do like how he has a statement about respecting fans since Marvel and DC forgot what that meant and seem to be obsessed with diversity checklists.
Disney marvel as well hires morons who can’t be bothered to learn the source material. I know one of the writers or artists for Rippaverse was someone that worked for DC but left in disgust after the whole gay Superman stuff went down.
Comic book is good though. If you read comics I’d say give it a shot.
That will be Gabe Eltaeb, very based gentleman. He has a comic called "Truth, Justice, and the American Way", since DC abandoned this slogan. I think it can still be backed on Indiegogo.
Cool! I’ll check it out.
Which cover did you get?
The regular cover with ISOM on from. I know there is one with him and the lady and two members of that super hero squad. Which did you get?
Same, the regular cover signed. Speaking of which I just got mine a couple days ago too! But I've been busy with work and stuff and haven't had time to break open the wrapper. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Nice! Let me know what you think. Like I said I’m definitely interested in learning more about the universe he is creating and I got to give him respect. Instead of only complaining about the crap that is out he did his own thing. I also need to buy some of Chuck Dixon’s work.
Up until very early last year I was still reading amazing Spider-Man since He was my favorite but I couldn’t do it anymore. I still read DC/Marvel from years past but I’m going to look more into indies. I was pleasantly surprised with ISOM and interested to see what happens next and I wonder if the people and groups introduced to I’ll have their own comics. Like that lady and the band at the end
Mine showed up last night. I quite enjoyed it, I'll definitely be picking up further issues. I honestly like Eric's music more, but the comic book ended with a page that basically teased his next album, which was very nice.
It's art that doesn't make me immediately want to throw it into a fire, and that's rare at this point.
Agreed. I recently downloaded his albums. I first learned about him through Nerdrotic.
Just go with 'Spawn' if you want alternative comics or something. You don't have to wait for anything, either. It's 300+ comics right there.
I have older Spawn comics and enjoy them. I stopped reading most new comic books a while back outside of indies. But yea I have Spawn from the 90s. I’ve been following Eric July for a while and decided to give his book a chance.
