I know I should not hate people but is hard to not hate leftists, is not like it was not common knowledge that Ukraine is a religious country or that being religious yourself does not invalidates other peoples religious believes.
I just can't stand the shallowness of their belief system, just can't.
Right. They have their own religion and consider Christianity heresy. They were were "performing miracles" at the site Saint George of Fentanyl ODed. But their holiest sacremant is touching children.
The funny thing is, the western part of Ukraine is more religious than the eastern part (which like Russia has a lot more atheists).
Their lives are just pure obedience to the powers that be. The powers told them "religion bad", so they obey, then they said "Ukraine good". Now they have cognitive dissonance.
You know, like 1/3 of all Americans think most people in America are black and gay because this is what they see in the popculture.
I think the only portrayal of Ukrainians as Christians in American popular culture was in The Deer Hunter and in the 1980s 1978 and most people only know the Vietnam deathgame scenes.

They don't hate religion generally. They hate Christians, and the hatred of demons is a great endorsement of Christianity.

I mean yes. Lviv is clearly a very important religious city, for many different groups…
Same with Odessa to an extent. Same with Kyiv.
The Donbass cities were more… Industrial, and like you say, a very different history.
Kharkiv, notably, seems to be somewhere in between, you might say. Which makes sense.
