Humanity is 80 years behind the curve it could be in if we finally used nuclear power. No one advocates that explosives shouldn't be used for digging constructions and destruction even though bombs have killed more than nukes. Cheap, limitless energy would drive so much innovation much like the steam engine did (Although the industrial revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for humanity; at least let's live in this post IR world properly)
