Florida is on that list and only has a 15 week ban, which is pretty moderate and highly popular.
Leftists don't want compromise, they want to bypass it all and go straight to destruction of the right.
The party of "be more like Europe" hates it when a state has abortion laws similar to most of Europe.
Now, now; it's not about the actual laws in Europe, it's what they feel those laws are. Everyone knows Europe is more advanced; they ban guns completely, abortions are available on every corner, and it's a utopia with no crime or problems and everyone is happy.
Stephen Colbert is an insufferable lefty, but he came up with one genius thing a few years back. He coined the term "truthiness" to describe things that sound/feel true even if they aren't. He did it to mock Republicans, but I've found the entire democratic platform is basically based on truthiness.
They completely ignore the real-world effects of their policies and any self-reflection or course correction that should come as part of governance.
It's even one week more generous than France, a country they say we should copy when it comes to abortion. Well when it comes to most things now that I think about it.
