This is one of the most retarded opinions I've seen in a while from him.
DeSantis has government experience, less baggage, and a sort of "perfect" family that won't leave him open to attacks.
Trump might win, but he's going to make more bad choices about who he appoints, and won't cut government spending because the neocons will be 100% against him still.
DeSantis wouldn't run up against as much neocon resistance because he is basically a neocon. He's been doing great work combating some of the leftist social contagion in Florida. I would not want to see him in charge of foreign policy.
Lol. How is he a neocon?
Provide some facts to back up your shit.
DeSantis:
Biden not being tough enough on Russia
Calling for more economic sanctions against Russia
Promises to be the most pro-Israel governor in the US
Again, in terms of domestic policies, DeSantis' record has been really good, but his statements on foreign policy tend to err on the side of neolib interventionism. He is certainly an improvement on Bush-era republicans, but he definitely sounds like he would be more pro-interventionist in his foreign policy.
If Trump weren't running, I'd still vote for him, but the indications are that he'd be a lot more in tune with the establishment side of the GOP than Trump.
Being pro israel is a guaranteed ally against iran, etc. And Trump was pro israel too.
Trump was also a hardass on russia.
So...basically you're admitting DeSantis is going to continue Trumps foreign policy ideas. Is Trump a neocon?
Trump was a democrat.
And since when has Iran actually be a credible threat to the U.S.?
When has any country in the middle east been a credible threat to us?
People like you are fucking hilarious because it shows how you think you're smarter than the average bear but are, in fact, a complete retard. DeSantis is currently seeking reelection as governor of Florida. If makes no sense for him to consider for POTUS if he's running for a lesser seat. Holding onto the idea that the man will still run for the highest seat in the country despite opening state he will not run if Trump decides to seek reelection is more than just retarded. It's actively helpful to the Democrats.
Not only that, but if you think him being a fucking governor gives him "experience" as POTUS, you're out of your fucking mind. Of course, you're also assuming that a "perfect" family would have helped Trump when the reality is the opposite as it lead to the media being unable to really pin him down on any one 'issue'.
Quit being a massive faggot.
I'm still voting for trump in the general if he wins the primary. I'm just not voting for him in the primary if desantis is running (and I expect he is).
More than trump had going in. Remind me what offices Trump had before potus?
You're just riding trumps dick because you can't play the long game, and don't realize trump didn't do a lot for us. He had good ideas, but couldn't push them through for the most part.
Like I've said, DeSantis is better off as Governor and Trump as a cheerleader.
Trump already sold out as President when he was elected, DeSantis will follow suit.
The whole debate about Trump-DeSantis is just to distract people from getting a candidate in who will do better than both to reign in on the federal agencies and stop all the crap that comes out of Congress.
I'd rather have Rand Paul in office than either of them, but none of that alters the point being made here, which is Trump is in the best position to get the Dems out of office in 24, and they know that, which is why they're working so hard to astroturf a primary challenge against him.
The big differences would be a better economy / lower prices and SCOTUS judges. Both are worth it.
But, other than that, I'm not expecting much to change because his track record as President was pretty liberal. Expect America to continue its descent towards tyranny and communism.
When he was in office before, it was really just him, with the entire mainstream establishment of both major parties working to undermine him. Thanks mostly to Steve Bannon, that's not really the case anymore. The populist takeover of the GOP grassroots has started to trickle up. If Trump gets back into office, he will have actual ideological allies in Congress willing to support his agenda. At the very least, that would mean the wall gets finished and a few more years of non-interventionist foreign policy, on top of a better economy.
Again, not perfect, but it should at least be a mild antidote to your apparent case of blackpill poisoning.
Is there someone you have in mind? I legitimately don't know who might throw their hat in yet.
I don't believe they could win because democracy is losing game for freedom-loving individuals, but Thomas Massie would be my first choice.
A more "realistic" choice would be Rand Paul.
They're the only ones with a proven track record in upholding the Constitution and the only ones that believe the federal government is completely out of control.
Since it's naive to think we'll ever get any legislation through Congress, the alternative is to stop everything that comes out of Congress. On top of that, they'd be in position to reform the federal agencies.
Sadly, we have a kabuki theater between Trump and DeSantis and people are enjoying the show.
To drive home the point of how futile federal elections are: our last great hope for America was Ron Paul, and voters chose Romney over him.
To end on a positive note, a better plan is to take control of our local and state governments and have them defy the federal government. Vote in Sheriffs who will uphold the Constitution, as well.
