Rings of Power looks good, but it's unlikely to win over Tolkien fans

it looked great. Showcasing more of the characters, designs, sets, sounds, and a real glimpse into the action of this new version of Middle-Earth, it looks like somebody spent around 500 million dollars bringing the Second Age of Middle-Earth to life.

Let's not beat around the bush: The first two-thirds of the trailer are basically nothing but "look how pretty these landscapes are." You could argue that they just don't want to give away plot details at this point, but it certainly gives the impression that story plays second fiddle to hundreds of millions of dollars worth of special effects.

Question is, other issues aside, will pretty special effects be enough to maintain this show for five seasons, or even more than one?
