I fully expect I will either be rolled into a mass grave, or I will be an old man shuffling through a sea of brown faces in a country I no longer recognize, in a culture that is alien to me.
The former option sounds more appealing.
You're missing the third option: we become the monsters they believe we are, and the world we leave behind is actually something worth preserving.
I would like to believe that's what's going to happen. But I doubt it.
