I don't see the point in buying modern comics. If you like Batman, you can easily download everything from Detective Comics #1 to the present for free. Rinse and repeat for any other character or book that interests you.

I would recommend stopping reading at the mid-90s, and you would still have a hard time reading everything that was published.
