I'd give a shit if my own government (Germany) wasn't doing pretty much the same.

A journalist reporting on telegram from the eastern provinces of Ukraine had her bank account seized, her father's account seized, is under investigation for not toeing the Ukrainian line and faces three years in prison. All of this is being done by the German government in Germany mind you, not Ukraine.
