I don’t think living anywhere near Chicago is sane, you have to pick the culture you want to live in.
While true, there is a marked difference between the South Side and Highland Park. About two figures of income difference.
There's a reason libs always say "Chicago isn't that bad, its per capita murder rate is low!" It's because Chicago is massive and they've mostly isolated the murder in the South Side.
