It's been a while, but I don't remember taking much issue with her character. She was a product of failure trying to do better. I think by the end I grew to like the whole crew, especially the pilot.
I despised that character from the get go. Clear diversity choice. Ugly face model. Like butt ugly model. Pathetic whiny and annoying personality. I was happy when she died and wish I could've skipped every single forced cut scene with her.
She's played by the chick from Mad TV. I don't know what her current political leanings are, but Mad TV was definitely the opposite of Woke, back in the day. Like SNL, but edgier.
Stupid arguments like this meme are why we lose. It still accepts the frame (DIE is needed/good/beneficial/etc) and validates the moral superiority of the speaker.
It's not your community so there's nothing to defend. Star Wars is gone.
For other spaces, the proper response to entryists is to purge them ASAP. When someone starts talking about diversity or pronouns, just fire them. Don't give a reason, just show them the door. If you don't have that power, then you need to get it.
Much of the problem of leftism is they have all the money. The channel contra points makes less than a video a year and gets millions of dollars. Left-wing orgs have unlimited cash to buy people off. You don't care if you lose profits because the left pays you either way. Easier to keep the left happy than deal with customer feedback.
