It looks to me like someone trying hard to lie to himself. Surely he wouldn't attend otherwise.
Not totally wrong. I've known people personally with this experience. Maybe not with respect to the tolerant part, but the constant threat of divorce and taking the kids away forever as the ticket to do whatever they want. They know how easily they can follow through on that in the rigged divorce and family courts.
You are parsing that wrong. He's saying ((one-balled god [i.e. Hitler]) worshippers [i.e. Nazis]) because he and DrJester think association with a movement that hasn't been relevant for almost a century at this point is the height of political discourse.
