Is Tariq Nasheed someone popular? I mean he isn’t wrong if you look at the history but it also says something about you if you feel you are owed something and can’t move on from something you never experienced
He's a race grifter-- so yes, he's popular in progressive circles.
His whole identity and education is in racial politics, and he has no skill set outside of complaining about race, but hey. He's getting his as a progressive thought-leader. He's living the post-American dream.
I always wonder if they consider the fact that if this country was as racially oppressive as they say, wouldn’t they be silenced for bashing white ppl all the time?
I’ve heard of it before and that is a good point if you want to play the reparations game then Africa should be your first target. It is interesting how black immigrants do better but they tend to come from two parent homes and don’t buy into the victim mentality.
A good history of world wide slavery was given by Thomas Sowell in Black Rednecks and White Liberals but I’d love a whole book on the topic.
He was popular enough to create the idea of Buck Breaking from his own mind, and then get a decent amount of black men to not only accept it as truth but be willing to take pictures holding it up.
He used to be pretty regularly quoted and talked about as a big name in pro-black narratives.
What is buck breaking?
I believe it originally referred to training a wild animal to be docile, but came to refer to how slaveowners would torture or rape male slaves to emasculate them. (the "Toby" scene in Roots would be a mild example)
It's funny because actually breaking people's will normally doesn't involve sexual violence until the CIA gets involved. It's only the weird westerners, specifically Americans, that come up with crazy sex-fetish based tortures.
All other places in the world, and all other interrogation & torture manuals, really only involve a bit of physical abuse, psychological manipulation, and fostering a sense of dependency. None require sexual violence, because that's weird, and only the Americans have a thing with putting hummas in a person's butt hole.
Ohhhhh. Ok. So this guy is comparing himself to slaves.
