An older lady at my church recently showed me an article about how Candace Cameron Bure was leaving the Hallmark channel to go to a channel called GAC Family channel along with some other Hallmark people and it appears that part of the reason is that she is a devout Christian and doesn't like the direction the channel is going (they stated they have a goal of being more "inclusive" and will include more lgbt content). GAC Family is being attacked for "dog whistles" because they said they want to produce faith based content for the whole family.
Obviously Hallmark can do as they please but I do think they may not understand who their market is. I have known many people who say they like hallmark because they don't inject real world politics and, and that it was refreshing that they could watch something without lgbt content. Like I said, Hallmark is free to do as they choose, but if someone feels that there is a market for traditional minded Christians then they have the right to cater to them.
The odd thing is when the whole thing blew up with Hallmark there was a lesbian activist who complained about Hallmark not representing her when she spoke with the CEO at the time and she also admitted that she didn't even watch the channel. At that point I would've said that there are plenty of channels/streaming sites that will cater to you, go watch them.
If I didn't already shave my hair off I would be pulling out my hair because this keeps happening in modern times. The idiotic networks listen to braindead activists. Like black activists who whine about every show not having enough diversity. I have gotten into arguments with such people when I was more active on Reddit and they got mad when I told them that if seeing black people is all you care about then there are outlets that cater to that. Same could be said for radical lgbt, feminist, or whatever groups. Why more people don't realize that these "activists" have no interest in entertainment and need to be ignored is beyond me.
With todays technology there is a big market for entertainment. I enjoy sappy faith based movies, but I know where to go for them and it would be pointless for me to demand that a company like HBO air a bunch of them.
Sorry for the rant, but it is beyond ridiculous.

Hallmark was being attacked because their target demographic was conservative straight white women. You could literally write every movie they have ever made by making a mad lib. So they are now bowing into pressure and they are going to lose their target demographic.
I agree. I plan on giving it a chance. You know they throw around the dog whistle term for everything. I would watch hallmark sometimes to support it because it would get a lot of hate.
