Trump would be better off enjoying his retirement, then endorsing DeSantis for president in 2024 and doing a few rallies for him to boost turnout in rurals.

Desantis will fare better in suburban areas than Trump ever could but I think some Trump rallies for DeSantis might be necessary in order to also maintain high rural turnout.
