The OG show did get into race & politics at times but it was rare, the show had 0 white main cast members but everyone in my small white school watched it.
Whenever I debate the young woke crowd that obsesses over diversity I point out the original fresh prince, Cosby show, or blade as an example that people will support something with a good story regardless of race. A black show in the modern era that endlessly harps on racism…. Not so much.

Sanford and Son was the best. I'm not even that old but I watched it all on a TV Land marathon. Every episode was funny except the ones where they replaced Sanford.
