Some people buy inferior versions out of ignorance or preference, that's why its usually best to just not sell an inferior version you know you'll never be able to keep up to snuff.
Speaking as someone who bought Skyrim on PS3, where it never worked and still does not.
It's really sad what has happened to Elite Dangerous over the last few years. It had so much potential, but Frontier has squandered it at every turn. The game has so many abandoned features, tons of unused content, and what does exist offers infamously "mile wide, inch deep" gameplay.
Odyssey was really the final nail in the coffin. Half-baked FPS gameplay, horrific performance, tons of bugs, and it broke the few good existing features and game loops people enjoyed. Even today, Frontier still hasn't fixed everything they broke, not even including the console mess. They deserve to fail at this point, although that still doesn't make the flop this game has become hurt any less for longtime fans of the series.
Yep, there's a long litany of things that FDev could have done better, but this takes the cake. Frustrating as hell, especially as the group I'm involved with, a flight school, now have no idea for how long we're even going to have new pilots to help...
I HAD NO IDEA THERE WERE FLIGHT SCHOOLS
I just learned the hard way and screamed: "PUT YOUR PHYSICS KNOWLEDGE TO WORK GIZ!"
...
Can I join your flight school?
Of course you can.

Did you make use of this yet, by the way?
I didn't see anybody that was obviously you in the welcome channel...
No, I haven't joined yet. I'm actually a bit busy this week, and I need to make a discord account to even join.
Fair. There's also a website - https://newp.io/ - and an in-game squadron, the creatively-named NEWP.
How is Star Citizen looking?
Optimistically they get to beta within 3 years, but too many unknowns that need to be tested and solved.
Current state? Not much of a mmo, 50 max server instances, rudimentary gameplay loops and poor fps on even high end systems with servers that cannot handle users and AI atm (leading to AI rubberbanding at worst).
putin should make a policy of his standown that those faggots finish their game soon
FWIW, they did actually bring GalNet back after months of opprobrium.
It's frustrating and disappointing to hear the dev team decide that rather than pick any one of the multitude of ways they could make the game better, they've just decided to cash out instead.
They misled people about it, too.
Thank you very much for your support, encouragement, and most of all MONEY. Now fuck off. As a developer, if you have completely separate codebases for different systems, and you are NOT developing in assembly, you suck, and deserve whatever bad things happen to you. No, seriously.... I mean if you make one codebase for, say, XBOX and another for PC, and you happen to be walking down the street, and for no reason whatsoever a person pops out of the alley and stabs you, you deserved it.
I bought it on console. Never really got into playing it. I thought I'd like the flying and all, but there seemed to be not much to do outside of just go places. Who knows, I was probably doing it wrong. Shame they are abandoning it though.
I didn't even know those were ever a thing.
