I'm not even sure it is poorly done for attention on her part. It is possible she is just an average Hollywood narcissist that craves drama and attention.

On a related note I hate how Hollywood is associated with some of the worse things in humans: lust, drugs, superficiality, corruption, exploitation but they lecture others about morals.
