Because it was pepper spray based, much worse.

For those who've never had the pleasure:

Tear gas is like having Jennifer Anniston wrapping her legs around your head and queefing in your face.

Pepper spray is like force feeding bigfoot ghost peppers for a day and then jacking off into your eyes.

I got CS gas (tear gas) in the military then OC spray (law enforcement grade pepper spray) in some training where we had to fight our instructor right after being sprayed. I'll take the CS any day. Hell, we used to go back into the gas chamber for fun after everyone went through. CS wears off in 10 minutes then you feel great, even better than before; it really clears you up. OC spray is like sunburn on your eyeballs for 8 hours.
